Stay in the Know: Important Title and Registration Updates
Here's what's going on in the title and registration world:
Pennsylvania drivers ditch the stickers
Effective December 31, 2016, PennDOT will no longer issue vehicle registration stickers. Drivers are not required to remove any old stickers.
Current technology allows law enforcement to verify whether a vehicle registration is valid through real-time electronic means.
If your company is enrolled in LeasePlan’s renewal management program, we will handle the renewal process for your drivers.
Indiana vehicle registrations expire soon
Most of Indiana fleet vehicle registrations expire January 31. Heavy commercial vehicles (11,001 pounds or more) and trailers (5,000 pounds or more), expire March 31.
If your company is enrolled in LeasePlan's renewal management program, let your drivers know to be on the lookout for their registration sticker toward the end of January or March as the vehicle weight dictates.
Please note: Registration renewals for fleet may not be the same as for your personal vehicle. Taking early action on vehicle inspection reports and other requirements for renewing registrations can help your drivers avoid delays and stay mobile!
Texas needs your VIRs!
The state of Texas requires Vehicle Inspection Reports (VIR) to complete your drivers' registration renewals. As they receive requests from LeasePlan about their VIR, ask them to please complete the inspection and submit the report to LeasePlan as soon as possible.
Although they do have 90 days before registration renewal is due to complete this inspection, some counties in Texas may experience delays in processing registration renewals.
Remind your drivers to get ahead of the game so they’re not stuck with an expired registration!
